Dad and Zoe Home Alone

Last week was the first time I was home alone without Mommy.  Mommy has begun traveling again to all the places we went when I was still Ziggy the Zygote.  Not fair, Mom, I wanna go to California again!  Anyway, from Monday to Saturday it was just me and Dad.  Mom left at about 4am on Monday, so Dad was on bottle duty right away.  My morning meal was no different than usual, and I had a great day with Yiayia, but I knew that change was in the air by bedtime.  Dad came home from work and talked about some new sleepytime rules.  Apparently he was going to teach me how to sleep through the night.
What is the night, anyway?  I like to wake up every few hours to eat and hang out.  My favorite 3am infomercial is the one about the vacuum that runs itself, do you know that one?  Anyway, it was hard to see the infomercial thru my tears on Monday night -- Dad let me cry in my bassinet and wouldn't pick me up to console me.  Boooooooooo, Dad.  Don't you see how cute I am?  How can you resist me?  As you can see, however, I survived.  Dad fed me about 630am on Tuesday, but I think the rolls on my thighs shrunk overnight.
Tuesday was a fun day -- Dad took me to Babies R Us and got me some new toys.  These days I'm "pre-teething" and I love to chew on anything I can get my hands on.  You can put something in front of me, I can take it from your hands and put it in my mouth.  My favorites are my plastic cow and my plush blue elephant.  I keep knawing on the hooks!
Dad also took me on a road trip to Ocean City to visit Mike and Lauren and baby Noah.  I was a good girl and slept the whole ride down (2.5 hours in the car).  Noah and I got along like gangbusters.  He's a flirt, but so am I.  I know how to bat my eyelashes at the boys -- don't tell Dad!  I had a long walk and a nap, and I dipped my toes in the Atlantic Ocean -- it's cold, but I liked it!
By Friday I was ready for Mom to come home.  Dad ran out of Mommy's milk so I had to drink from a can.  It's cool, I'm not picky, but snuggle time with Mom is way better.  Dad was also wearing me out with the sleepytime hazing!  By Friday night I was able to sleep from 11pm to 630am -- crying was getting old, and I knew Mom would take care of me when she got back on Saturday.  I missed her so much that I gave her a big smile when she got home Saturday morning!  I also pooped on her and she fed me -- it was the best.
Next week Dad starts taking care of me full-time for a little while.  Just remember, Dad, my rolls are cute, so feed me!!

Thanks for reading,
Zoe.
